Grain Sorghum
Our international breeding programs have made us the leading supplier of grain sorghum genetics around the world.
India is the largest producer of the pearl millet – Both in terms of area & production. Pearl millet is the most widely grown type of millet.
It is valued for both its grain and forage. Its grains have high protein content, balanced amino acid profile, and high levels of iron, zinc, and insoluble dietary fiber and are the major source of dietary carbohydrates in the human diet. Its forage is an important component of livestock ration during the dry period of the year.
Pearl millet is cultivated in both Kharif and summer seasons in northwestern India. It is also noted that the demand for pearl millet from the health-conscious food products industry is increasing as it contains more fiber and is good for diabetic and heart patients.
Advanta is very strong in the forage pearl millet segment but now it is also coming up strongly in grain millet segment as well with as many as four commercial hybrids available in the market right now.
